French Elections: Anti-far right protests across France, Le Pen calls demonstrations anti-democratic
now as the second round of the french election inches closer thousands of anti-far-right demonstrators marched across the country as opponents of the presidential candidate marie le pen with a goal of preventing her from winning the election which is against the incumbent emmanuel macron now as elections rallies continue to intensify so have the protests police have warned of possible incidents as demonstrators can wean in around 30 cities in central paris thousands of people gathered chanting anti-far-right slogans and warning of democratic upheaval if lepen were to win effective [Applause] [Music] [Music] security forces to briefly fire tear gas at the protesters who continued marching after a brief halt the protests continued with more slogans and signs and banners that read against the far right for justice and equality not le pen at the elise referring to the french president's official residence the pro-european union census macro won presidency in 2017 after easily beating le pen when voters rallied behind him in sun the runoff to keep her far right party out of power but this year the first round of voting on april 10th set up the same battle but macro is facing a much tougher challenge as many people are against both presidential candidates [Music] anti-democratic meanwhile the protester mantis got violent as scuffles broke out between police and protesters eight days ahead of the second round run off the road to april 24th continues to get interesting [Applause] [Music] you
